DIEGO DE SILVA AND THE TRIO MALINCONICO

The Trio Malinconico was born from the meeting of a writer and two jazz musicians, with the aim of bringing together literature and music in a performance where both languages can speak to each other on equal terms. Narrative writing, after all, often follows its own rhythm and musicality, just as music always carries a form of storytelling.

The performance alternates between spoken excerpts and live musical improvisations, created in the moment by the musicians. This allows the audience to focus on the text and then shift into listening, in an essential, unplugged formation of double bass and saxophone.

Music and literature, after all, make a wonderful pairing—as anyone who loves both knows well.
